Shauna knew she wanted to be a photographer when she was very young. Her brother built a darkroom in their garage, and that was the spark that lit her career.

She went on to photograph college and professional sports for the Associated Press (AP), United Press International (UPI), and news and sports for The Kansas City Star and Times.

After graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors of Science degree in Photojournalism, she moved to the west coast where she continued her work for the Los Angeles Times, The Orange County Register, and the Orange Coast Daily Pilot. She has also completed corporate work for Arco Oil Company, and freelance projects for various companies in the surfing, snowboard and apparel industry.

Shauna now calls Catalina Island her home and workplace. She has since established a very successful photography business using the beautiful backdrop of the island as her studio.
